About What That Mean
What That Mean is an independent, plain-English reference for the words, numbers and acronyms people actually run into online — the slang in a group chat, the 444 someone keeps posting about, the SMH in a comment thread. If you saw it and wondered what it means, this site is built for that exact moment.
Why it exists
Language now moves faster than dictionaries. A word can be everywhere on one platform for six months before a traditional reference catches up — and tone travels even more slowly than definition. Knowing that “chud” is a noun is not the same as knowing you should probably not call someone one. Explanations that skip tone, examples and context leave you half-informed at exactly the wrong moment.
So every entry here answers the same five things, in the same order: the plain-English meaning, where the term came from, when to use it, three real example sentences, and the most common way people get it wrong.
How the site is run
What That Mean is an independent publication. Entries are written and reviewed by our editors, checked against how a term is genuinely used in the wild, and dated — every page shows when it was last updated. New entries go live weekly, and existing entries are revisited when a term shifts meaning.
For angel numbers and other belief-based topics, we explain what a term is commonly believed to mean and where the interpretation comes from. We describe the belief; we don’t push it.
